17 Miracle Matt Foundation

Hey Everyone,

So I went in to Boots at the weekend to get some false eyelashes and came out with a new foundation and concealer!

I put my Boots Advantage Card in to the machine that they have in every store to see if there were any special offers as I love a bargain! And up popped a voucher for a free '17' Eye Brightening Concealer with any 17 make up product. So I quickly printed the voucher and walked swiftly to the 17 make up stand!

Luckily I got there just in time as there was only one Concealer left! In the shade 'light beige' Now regardless of what shade the concealer was I was having it!!!

I chose to get a foundation to go with this offer as I'm still searching for the perfect one! And one caught my eye as it was called, 'Miracle Matte Foundation' with 'All day shine control'. So I thought, it'll be perfect for my oily skin! I chose the shade 'soft ivory' as it was the lightest.

As soon as I got home I wanted to try this foundation so I took off all my make up with a make up wipe and then moisturised with my Body Shop Vitamin E moisturiser. I then applied my Boots No.7 shine control primer and waited 10 mins for it to sink it.

After 10 mins I dispensed some of the foundation on to the back of my hand and then applied it to my face using my fingers. This is how I normally apply my foundation as I find it easier to blend that way.

For some reason this foundation made my primer peel off! And the foundation just wouldnt spread to my face!

So I took off all my make up again with a wipe and just applied moisturiser and allowed that to sink in for 10-15 mins. After the time had passed I tried to apply the foundation with my fingers again, and yet again it wouldnt spread properly! it just wouldnt go over certain parts of face such as under my eyes or around my nose and chin!

I've tried several times to apply this foundation using different moisturisers and primers and using brushes and sponges but it just won't go on right! It just peels!

Has anyone else tried this foundation and found the same? Any tips on how to get it looking better when applied?

As for the concealer, I love it! It's abit too dark for me so next time I'd buy a lighter shade and hopefully there will be more shades to choose from!

I really want this foundation to work for me and I've read some great reviews on it! So what have I been doing wrong?!

My first Glossybox

Hey Everyone,

So I recently signed up to Glossy box after seeing lots of blog posts on it and I really wanted to try it for myself! My first box came this morning and it was wrapped beautifully :) this is what I recieved....

1. Duwop Venom Gloss in the shade 'Buttercup' (5ml)

I've not heard of this brand before so I was excited to try it as I am a HUGE lipgloss lover! And I'm really impressed with it! The colour comes out virtually clear on the lips but with a few sparkles. On the leaflet explaning each of the products it has a note saying that the 'Lip venom may cause a light tingling sensation upon application' I actually read this after I had applied the gloss which then explained why my lips were tingling! It's not uncomfortable it just feels a bit funny!

The gloss contains a 'spicy concoction of cinnamon, wintergreen and ginger with skin softening ingredients like jojoba, avocado and sunflower oil, beeswax for protection, and green tea to sooth'.

To me my lips don't look like they are plumper but they do feel plumper because of the tingling sensation. The gloss lasts a while on the lips as I managed to drink a cup of tea and it stayed put! The full price lipgloss costs £16 (10.4ml) which I think is quite reasonable, I think I may buy a full size version as I have 20% discount from Glossy box, however I think i'll pick a pinky shade.

2. Dr. Bronner Magic Liquid Soap

The packaging of this product looks rather dated however this is the look their going for... This soap is unscented and fair trade. It contains organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure essential oils. I like that it is fair trade however I do wish it had a scent to it. Having said that though this soap is great for those with problem skin as it is a mild soap. The bottle is made from recycled plastic which is great as its enviromentally friendly!!

I do like this product but I don't think I'll purchase the full size version even if it's only £1.99 (59ml).

3. Paul Mitchell Round Trip Liquid Curl Definer

This product smells soo nice! I like it when hair products have a nice scent as it makes me think... luxury! This product is designed to define curls and you can apply it to damp or dry hair. It also helps to protect hair against heated appliances. I haven't used this product yet but I'm looking forward to doing so. The full price version is £12.95 (200ml).

4. BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow in 'Dusty Road' (1g)

As soon as I saw this eyeshadow I thought YES this is exactly my kinda colour of eyeshadow! I've not tried any products from this brand before but I really like this one and want to try more of the eyeshadows now! The colour is a yellow gold and you only need a little bit for each eyelid. It can be built up to produce a darker gold and it's fun to experiment with. You can also use it as a gold highlight on the cheeks, the staying power is great too!

The full size version is £7 for 2g and I would definitley buy this again. Be careful when opening the eyeshadow though as if you drop it, it will go everywhere as there is no product dispenser inside!

5. Como Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion (50ml)

This lotion contains eucalyptus, geranium, lavender and peppermint. I'm not sure if it's meant for the whole body or not?! but it smells like a foot product. Don't get me wrong, it smells lovely! I'm just not sure if I'd use it on my whole body! According to the leaflet provided it 'puts you in a perfectly uplifted mood' which I do agree with! I don't think I'd buy the full size version as it costs £20 for 300ml.

I enjoyed my first Glossybox however I do wish I had recieved a nail polish! Maybe next month!

Did you get Glossybox this month? What did you think of the products?

Let me know please :)

Review: Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam

Hey Everyone,

So I recently saw the adverts on TV and in Magazines for the New Maybelline Airfoam Foundation and was really excited to try it as I'm a huge fan of Maybelline foundation! I currently use Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation but I love trying out new things!

I got the airfoam foundation in the shade 030 Sand as this one matched my complexion best and it cost me £8.99 from Boots.

Now I wasn't sure what to expect with this foundation as I'd never even heard of a foam foundation before so was looking forward to trying it! But sadly this one has left me feeling a little let down!

Before applying the foundation give it a good shake to mix the foundation up. Once you have given it a shake, press lightly on the pump as it comes out very quickly and you only need a small amount to cover the whole face as it's quite thin and spreads easily. The foundation then comes out in a blob! Use a brush or your fingers to mix it if needed then apply to your face. The foam feels quite wet and provides little coverage so you may need to apply one coat, let it dry then go over areas which need more coverage.

This foundation suits those who have blemish free skin as it's very light. I have oily skin and think that this foundation is not really suitable for me as it made my face really shiny at the end of the day and does not give enough coverage for the evening.

I much prefer my previous foundation which is the Maybelline Satin Liquid, but hey it's nice to switch it up abit sometimes!

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think? Let me know please :)

Individual lashes

Hey Everyone,

So I decided to have a clear out of all my old college work and I found some individual false lashes in my old college beauty kit. Now I'm a huge fan of false lashes and always wear them on a night out! But individual lashes are a whole new ball game!!

I have no problem applying my own strip false lashes but individual ones are slightly trickier! There were 3 different sizes of lashes, Long, Medium and Small. I decided to use 3 lashes, 2 medium on the outer corner of my eye followed by a small one.

I used tweezers to dip the lash bulb in the glue before waitng for the glue to go tacky and then I applied. It took several attempts to get the lash in place! With lots of practice I finally managed to apply 3 lashes to each eye!

And the outcome was pretty good. They looked natural and felt really lightweight, I almost forgot they were there!

I think individual lashes are ideal for the daytime as they look great and really open the eye, however if you don't have much time in the morning then there not so ideal for you! But hey practice makes perfect right?

Have you tried individual false lashes? How did you get on?

Review: BB Cream

So I was in my local Boots store buying some '17' concealer when I spotted that the item was on 3 for 2, so obviously I just had to get 3 items!!! I noticed that this included BB Cream, which I have heard some great things about so I picked one up and as soon as I got home I tried it out and guess what? I LOVE it!

BB (Blemish Balm) Cream, is very similar to tinted moisturiser in its consistancy. I purchased mine from the brand '17' and in 'light' as I have fair skin. It definitley lives up to what it says on the tube: 'Reveal the magic of flawless skin with this ultimate 'no make up make up'. The all in one creamy formula covers, enchances and protects skin for the ultimate flawless finish and barely there beauty'.

I applied it with my fingers and it blended easily into my skin leaving a healthy sheen. I then used a power over my t-zone where shine often appears throughout the day. The product feels light on my skin and is perfect for the daytime. For the night time you may prefer to use foundation for full coverage.

The only downside to this BB cream is that it does not state if it has SPF. I assume this make doesnt, so you may want to apply a moisturiser with SPF 10-15 minutes before applying the BB cream.

Have you tried BB cream? What do you think about it? Can you recommed any other brands?
