Pink Bubbly Vaseline

Hi everyone,

I'm a huge fan of Vaseline I love the rosy lips one the best, but I was really excited when I saw that they'd added a 'Pink Bubbly' limited edition Vaseline to the collection.

I love the tin it looks like a luxury lip balm which of course it is! It comes out clear so is perfect for the daytime and luxurious enough for the evening (it really does contain wine extract!).

The only negative is that i'm not keen on the taste of the product, it is growing on me! I think this is because i'm used to the 'Rosy lips' with rose and almond oil.

The Pink Bubbly Vaseline is definitely worth trying though as it is limited edition and looks very posh in your make up bag!

It is priced slightly higher than the original Vaselines but it does last for ages!

It's perfect for the winter months, keeping though horrible dry, chapped lips at bay!

Try it for yourself and see what you think,

Pink Bubbly Vaseline costs £3.49 at Boots.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share my new favourite nail polish with you all. I recently discovered that Barry M have released a new range of hi shine gelly nail paints which are designed to last longer than standard polish and OMG I love them!

My fave is this red shade named 'Blood Orange' how ever i'd say its more red than orange! Anyway, its much thicker than the normal polish but it has about the same drying time. It dries really shiny and it lasts longer than normal polish too.

Who needs costly shellac or gel done at a beauty salon when you can spend £3.99 and have your nails look just as good from home! Bargain!

The removal process is just as simple as normal polish and it comes off pretty easily with nail polish remover!

So what do you think of Barry M gelly nail paint? Try it and let me know!

I'm hooked!

Rainbow Cake

Hey There,

This isn't a beauty post but I just wanted to share a picture of the Rainbow Cake my sister and I made for her birthday!

It took a long time to make but it was totally worth it!

Have you made a Rainbow Cake before?

No.7 Silver Glitter polish

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share another nail polish post with you! I purchased this limited edition silver glitter nail polish from Boots No.7 range last week and I love it so, so much!

I used my £5 No.7 voucher that Boots are currently giving out when you spend £5 or more in one transaction in store. I love it when they give these vouchers out as you can get great quality products for such cheap prices!

I used a Maybelline silver nail polish before applying the glitter top coat but it also looks nice over other colours too!

                                                     (Pic with flash!)

The technique I used to apply the glitter was just 'dabbing' it on rather than doing coats as this helped to spread the glitter out better!

The polish costs £8 but with my voucher it was just £3!

I hope you like it! The polish is also available in gold glitter, I think I might just treat myself to that one too, especially as I have another No.7 voucher!

Barry M Peach Melba

Hey there,

Just wanted to quickly share the nail polish I'm currently loving! It's by Barry M and it's called Peach Melba.

It's the perfect summer nail polish which will look great with a tan (either real or fake depending on the
British weather!!).

I used two coats of the polish followed by a coat of clear to keep it shiny and as long lasting as possible!

Have you tried this polish? What colour polishes will you be wearing in the summer time?

P.S Just wanted to share this picture of my yummy cupcake!

I'd love to take credit for making it but sadly I got it from Asda! Good job Asda it was delicious!

Zara Handbag

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share with you my new favourite bag ever! I've had my eye on this beauty for a while now after seeing it on various blogs and seeing as though it was payday I thought i'd treat myself!

I ordered it online as I hadn't seen it in my local Zara store and it came within a few days! I was so excited when the postman came, I almost gave him a hug!

Now this bag is rather large and spacious but the bigger the bag the slimmer it makes you look! Right?! Ha ha.

It comes in 3 different colours, Tan, Black and Cream with red and orange details.

The bag cost £39.99 from Zara and in my eyes it was worth every penny :) It's the perfect summer bag too that's why I chose the Tan colour.

What do you think of my new bag? Have you seen any nice one lately? I'm such a bag lady! You can never have enough!

March Glossybox Harrods edition

Hey everyone,

I recieved my second Glossybox this afternoon and I was very excited as it was a Harrods edition! I ripped open the packaging as I was so desperate to see the goods, and sadly I was dissappointed!

I understand that there are variations of the box and that not everyone gets each product as it is based on your beauty profile when you sign up. But having seen some of the other products on offer in this months Glossybox I am a little gutted at what I recieved!

Heres what I recieved in this months Glossybox Harrods edition:

1. Valentino- Valentina Eau De Parfum 1.5ml

'The exuberant freshness of Calabrian bergamot enhanced with white alba truffle. The irreverence of Amalfi orange blossom touched by wild strawberry. The captivating sensuality of cedar and amber'.

This is a tiny sample of pefume and for some reason it looks only 2/3 full even before i've used it! When I first saw this in the box I thought 'Seriously?' I could go and get this sample at a beauty counter for free!
Regardless of this the perfume does smell lovely! It reminds me of the duty free at the airport... you know when you walk past and it smells of holidays?! Well the booklet says its 'A daring and addictive, oriental, floral fragrance. A true feminine classic, twisted with the pure insolence of Italian ingredients'.

I like this perfume and maybe I would purchase it in the future but at the moment I'm ok for perfumes! The full size version retails from £60+.

2. Molton Brown Vitalising vitamin A,B+C Bath and Shower (gel?!)

'Vitamin rich fruit extracts boost the skin and invigorate the senses'

Again I'm dissappointed with this product I still have some in the bathroom from christmas which I havent used! It smells nice, a little spicy. I wouldn't buy this myself as I prefer fruitier (is that a word?!) bath and shower gels and I wouldnt pay £18 for a full size version (300ml).

It says on the card included that if you show this card at Molton Brown at Harrods you recieve a complimenary hand and arm massage along with a little bag of treats for you to try at home. Sadly I live no where near London so I can't have my free massage and treats :( if you do go though please leave me a comment :)

3. SKII Skin Signature (15ml)

'An anti aging moisturising cream which helps to re-condition the skin, improve its resilience and leave the complexion smooth and radiant'.

I've never heard of this brand before and it's quite a good sized sample. The booklet says to use this cream after cleansing and to pat it on the face to allow it to penetrate quickly into the skin. SKII is exclusively available at Harrods.

This cream is quite thick so only a little is needed at one time. It doesn't really have much of a smell at all which some people will like. It is anti ageing which is good I guess....I mean I am 21 nearly 22 afterall..... haha! I must start thinking about these things.....!!

The full size sample is £127 and for that amount of money I hope I wake up with baby soft and smooth skin!

4. Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

'Instant full body volume mascara'

This product excites me as I LOVE Lancome mascaras! I just haven't purchased one for myself as of yet because I'm a cheapskate! I have had a few samples in my time and from those I concluded that I LOVE Lancome mascaras! (phew!)

This mascara coats the lash really well and makes the lash look lovely and long! I am pleased with this sample however I could have picked this up at the Lancome counter for free!

The full size version retails at around £21.

5. Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream

'A formula rich in regenerating and firming plant extracts which immediately helps to lift and tone for firmer and a younger looking body'.

Well at 21 this is just what I need... a fimer and younger looking body! hmm... anyway I shall use this on the top backs of my legs to tone up that lovely area... the forumla is quite thick and it does smell lovely. A good sized sample, and thats all I have to say! I will have to give this a few weeks to see if there is any improvement.

A full size version costs £39.50.

6. Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Oil

'A 3 in 1 cleanser, make up remover and eye make up remover that leaves skin soft, balanced and non oily'.

I haven't opened this sample yet as I don't want to use it right now because I have a slightly sunburnt face! (how hot was it today?!) This sample is tiny! It looks like a freebie from a magazine! I'm not sure where you can find Shu Uemura other than Harrods?! I'll give this sample a go at some point this week! If you've tried it let me know please! The full size retails at £50+.

Overall I was dissappointed by this box as most of the samples can easily be picked up at counters for free! I think this box has been hit and miss with a lot of people depending on the products you recieved. I would have loved the Lancome juicy tube or Burberry lipstick but I guess thats the luck of the draw. I've not decided if I'll continue with my Glossybox subscription.

Did you recieve the Harrods Glossybox? What products did you get? Also could you recommend any other beauty boxes worth trying?

17 Miracle Matt Foundation

Hey Everyone,

So I went in to Boots at the weekend to get some false eyelashes and came out with a new foundation and concealer!

I put my Boots Advantage Card in to the machine that they have in every store to see if there were any special offers as I love a bargain! And up popped a voucher for a free '17' Eye Brightening Concealer with any 17 make up product. So I quickly printed the voucher and walked swiftly to the 17 make up stand!

Luckily I got there just in time as there was only one Concealer left! In the shade 'light beige' Now regardless of what shade the concealer was I was having it!!!

I chose to get a foundation to go with this offer as I'm still searching for the perfect one! And one caught my eye as it was called, 'Miracle Matte Foundation' with 'All day shine control'. So I thought, it'll be perfect for my oily skin! I chose the shade 'soft ivory' as it was the lightest.

As soon as I got home I wanted to try this foundation so I took off all my make up with a make up wipe and then moisturised with my Body Shop Vitamin E moisturiser. I then applied my Boots No.7 shine control primer and waited 10 mins for it to sink it.

After 10 mins I dispensed some of the foundation on to the back of my hand and then applied it to my face using my fingers. This is how I normally apply my foundation as I find it easier to blend that way.

For some reason this foundation made my primer peel off! And the foundation just wouldnt spread to my face!

So I took off all my make up again with a wipe and just applied moisturiser and allowed that to sink in for 10-15 mins. After the time had passed I tried to apply the foundation with my fingers again, and yet again it wouldnt spread properly! it just wouldnt go over certain parts of face such as under my eyes or around my nose and chin!

I've tried several times to apply this foundation using different moisturisers and primers and using brushes and sponges but it just won't go on right! It just peels!

Has anyone else tried this foundation and found the same? Any tips on how to get it looking better when applied?

As for the concealer, I love it! It's abit too dark for me so next time I'd buy a lighter shade and hopefully there will be more shades to choose from!

I really want this foundation to work for me and I've read some great reviews on it! So what have I been doing wrong?!

My first Glossybox

Hey Everyone,

So I recently signed up to Glossy box after seeing lots of blog posts on it and I really wanted to try it for myself! My first box came this morning and it was wrapped beautifully :) this is what I recieved....

1. Duwop Venom Gloss in the shade 'Buttercup' (5ml)

I've not heard of this brand before so I was excited to try it as I am a HUGE lipgloss lover! And I'm really impressed with it! The colour comes out virtually clear on the lips but with a few sparkles. On the leaflet explaning each of the products it has a note saying that the 'Lip venom may cause a light tingling sensation upon application' I actually read this after I had applied the gloss which then explained why my lips were tingling! It's not uncomfortable it just feels a bit funny!

The gloss contains a 'spicy concoction of cinnamon, wintergreen and ginger with skin softening ingredients like jojoba, avocado and sunflower oil, beeswax for protection, and green tea to sooth'.

To me my lips don't look like they are plumper but they do feel plumper because of the tingling sensation. The gloss lasts a while on the lips as I managed to drink a cup of tea and it stayed put! The full price lipgloss costs £16 (10.4ml) which I think is quite reasonable, I think I may buy a full size version as I have 20% discount from Glossy box, however I think i'll pick a pinky shade.

2. Dr. Bronner Magic Liquid Soap

The packaging of this product looks rather dated however this is the look their going for... This soap is unscented and fair trade. It contains organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure essential oils. I like that it is fair trade however I do wish it had a scent to it. Having said that though this soap is great for those with problem skin as it is a mild soap. The bottle is made from recycled plastic which is great as its enviromentally friendly!!

I do like this product but I don't think I'll purchase the full size version even if it's only £1.99 (59ml).

3. Paul Mitchell Round Trip Liquid Curl Definer

This product smells soo nice! I like it when hair products have a nice scent as it makes me think... luxury! This product is designed to define curls and you can apply it to damp or dry hair. It also helps to protect hair against heated appliances. I haven't used this product yet but I'm looking forward to doing so. The full price version is £12.95 (200ml).

4. BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow in 'Dusty Road' (1g)

As soon as I saw this eyeshadow I thought YES this is exactly my kinda colour of eyeshadow! I've not tried any products from this brand before but I really like this one and want to try more of the eyeshadows now! The colour is a yellow gold and you only need a little bit for each eyelid. It can be built up to produce a darker gold and it's fun to experiment with. You can also use it as a gold highlight on the cheeks, the staying power is great too!

The full size version is £7 for 2g and I would definitley buy this again. Be careful when opening the eyeshadow though as if you drop it, it will go everywhere as there is no product dispenser inside!

5. Como Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion (50ml)

This lotion contains eucalyptus, geranium, lavender and peppermint. I'm not sure if it's meant for the whole body or not?! but it smells like a foot product. Don't get me wrong, it smells lovely! I'm just not sure if I'd use it on my whole body! According to the leaflet provided it 'puts you in a perfectly uplifted mood' which I do agree with! I don't think I'd buy the full size version as it costs £20 for 300ml.

I enjoyed my first Glossybox however I do wish I had recieved a nail polish! Maybe next month!

Did you get Glossybox this month? What did you think of the products?

Let me know please :)

Review: Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam

Hey Everyone,

So I recently saw the adverts on TV and in Magazines for the New Maybelline Airfoam Foundation and was really excited to try it as I'm a huge fan of Maybelline foundation! I currently use Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation but I love trying out new things!

I got the airfoam foundation in the shade 030 Sand as this one matched my complexion best and it cost me £8.99 from Boots.

Now I wasn't sure what to expect with this foundation as I'd never even heard of a foam foundation before so was looking forward to trying it! But sadly this one has left me feeling a little let down!

Before applying the foundation give it a good shake to mix the foundation up. Once you have given it a shake, press lightly on the pump as it comes out very quickly and you only need a small amount to cover the whole face as it's quite thin and spreads easily. The foundation then comes out in a blob! Use a brush or your fingers to mix it if needed then apply to your face. The foam feels quite wet and provides little coverage so you may need to apply one coat, let it dry then go over areas which need more coverage.

This foundation suits those who have blemish free skin as it's very light. I have oily skin and think that this foundation is not really suitable for me as it made my face really shiny at the end of the day and does not give enough coverage for the evening.

I much prefer my previous foundation which is the Maybelline Satin Liquid, but hey it's nice to switch it up abit sometimes!

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think? Let me know please :)

Individual lashes

Hey Everyone,

So I decided to have a clear out of all my old college work and I found some individual false lashes in my old college beauty kit. Now I'm a huge fan of false lashes and always wear them on a night out! But individual lashes are a whole new ball game!!

I have no problem applying my own strip false lashes but individual ones are slightly trickier! There were 3 different sizes of lashes, Long, Medium and Small. I decided to use 3 lashes, 2 medium on the outer corner of my eye followed by a small one.

I used tweezers to dip the lash bulb in the glue before waitng for the glue to go tacky and then I applied. It took several attempts to get the lash in place! With lots of practice I finally managed to apply 3 lashes to each eye!

And the outcome was pretty good. They looked natural and felt really lightweight, I almost forgot they were there!

I think individual lashes are ideal for the daytime as they look great and really open the eye, however if you don't have much time in the morning then there not so ideal for you! But hey practice makes perfect right?

Have you tried individual false lashes? How did you get on?

Review: BB Cream

So I was in my local Boots store buying some '17' concealer when I spotted that the item was on 3 for 2, so obviously I just had to get 3 items!!! I noticed that this included BB Cream, which I have heard some great things about so I picked one up and as soon as I got home I tried it out and guess what? I LOVE it!

BB (Blemish Balm) Cream, is very similar to tinted moisturiser in its consistancy. I purchased mine from the brand '17' and in 'light' as I have fair skin. It definitley lives up to what it says on the tube: 'Reveal the magic of flawless skin with this ultimate 'no make up make up'. The all in one creamy formula covers, enchances and protects skin for the ultimate flawless finish and barely there beauty'.

I applied it with my fingers and it blended easily into my skin leaving a healthy sheen. I then used a power over my t-zone where shine often appears throughout the day. The product feels light on my skin and is perfect for the daytime. For the night time you may prefer to use foundation for full coverage.

The only downside to this BB cream is that it does not state if it has SPF. I assume this make doesnt, so you may want to apply a moisturiser with SPF 10-15 minutes before applying the BB cream.

Have you tried BB cream? What do you think about it? Can you recommed any other brands?

xoxo
